In Year 3, we are currently reading 'The Terrible Thing that Happened to Barnaby Brocket' by John Boyne.
Elenor and Alistar live perfectly normal lives: a normal job, a normal house and 2 normal children. That is until their floating child Barnaby Brocket comes along! What are they going to do with him?
Yamaia says 'I like the book because it uses some fantastic words! My favourite character is Barnaby because he floats which I think is cool!'
Kyron says 'I like the part in the story where Elenor takes Barnaby and their dog Captain WE Johns for their first walk because it is interesting and exciting to see how the other people react! My favourite character is Barnaby because I feel sorry for how his parents treat him. They aren't very kind to him and send him to a school for unwanted children.'
So far we'd rate this book 4/5. There is some difficult vocabulary that is hard to understand but we are really enjoying the story line and can't wait to see what happens to Barnaby!
