V. Tempest

I’m Victoria Tempest and I am Community Governor. I work within the Supported Living Sector, securing benefits for vulnerable people.  Previously I worked for a local Housing Association within the Newton Heath community supporting anyone who needed help with welfare benefits or employment skills. I have a keen personal interest in education, politics and welfare reform. As I live within the area, I have a passion for the good of our children and their right to an excellent education, in every walk of life, therefore I have a vested interest in excellent Governance of Briscoe Lane Academy.

Thank you,

M. Franklin

My name is Michael Franklin and I am currently employed at Business Analyst at Northwards Housing where I have worked since 2009.

I have led a number of finance initiatives including the introduction of a new streamlined financial management and accounting system, as well as a paperless procurement ordering system and I am a qualified ACCA accountant.

Many thanks,

M. Franklin

A. Ashurst

I am Amy Ashurst and am a Community Governor. I work at Seymour Road Academy as Assistant Principal and Key Stage 1 Lead. This is now my sixth year of working within the Wise Owl Trust, having previously been at Briscoe Lane Academy as a class teacher for five years.  I am dedicated to ensuring that our children are provided with the best education possible and develop the skills they need to prepare them for life.

D. Sommerville

My name is Deborah Somerville. I am currently serving as a Parent Governor at Briscoe Lane Academy. I also work as a Lunchtime Organiser so I am always in school  and know lots of the children.

I have always worked with children and, as such, am passionate that the children at Briscoe Lane Academy feel happy, healthy and safe whilst they are at school. I am always available if parents would like to discuss their children’s experience of school. Being a Governor is a new role for me and I am enthusiastic about making the most of this opportunity.

Kind regards

D. Somerville
