Over the last three weeks in Reception we have been reading the story 'Owl Babies' and talking about changes in our current lives, starting school, in the outside environment and the changes Autumn brings. The children have had great fun taking part in role play's and creating new characters for the story.
We also went on an Autumn walk around the school collecting leaves and discussing the colours and changes we could see. We then painted pictures and made leaf prints too. In Maths we have been working on our number recognition and counting up to 10 conkers and beyond. We have also been looking at 2D shapes and we went for a walk to find shapes in our environment, we found many shapes including a hexagon.
Over the next three weeks we will be reading the story 'Dogs' by Emily Gravett and be discussing how we are all different and equally valued.
The children have also started taking part in Mission lessons with Mr Bramble, learning about reliance and meeting our new respect characters
